Separate Merit List for Autonomous Engg Colleges

The process for submission of online application forms for admissions to the first-year degree courses in engineering and pharmacy in the state, will begin on Tuesday. (21 June 2011)

Starting this year, admissions to the centralised admission process for autonomous institutes (CAPAI) and the centralised admission process (CAP) for non-autonomous institutes in engineering studies will be executed under supervision of the state directorate of technical education (DTE).

Post-submission of online forms and the verification process, the DTE will release a separate merit list of students eligible for CAPAI and for CAP seats on its official website www.dte.org.in/fe2011  .The online application forms will also be posted for downloading from the same website. For pharmacy course forms, the website URL is www.dte.org.in/ph2011 .

There are 309 engineering colleges in the state, which collectively account for a student intake of 1,14,268. Similarly,9,170 seats are available at 147 pharmacy colleges. While the DTE has released these figures based on the position at the end of engineering and pharmacy admissions in 2010,it has said that the number of institutions/seats are likely to go up when the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) releases the list of new colleges, courses and change in student intake for 2011-12,by end of June.

Candidates are required to fill in the online application form, take a printout of the form and submit the same in person at any one of the designated application receipt centers (ARCs) for confirmation and verification. Candidates are required to carry both original and attested copies of the supporting documents, at the time of submission of forms at the ARC.

In Pune city, there are 15 ARCs for CAPAI and CAP while details relating to ARCs in other districts under DTEs Pune region are posted on the directorates website. Similarly, details relating to the ARCs for submission of forms for the pharmacy course are posted on the DTE web link for pharmacy admission.
For both CAPAI and CAP there will be four admission rounds each with the first three rounds meant for centralised allotment of seats and the final fourth round meant for allotment by way of counseling for eligible Maharashtra state students only.
